Squirrels and Other Rodents

• Attach screens to vents, fan openings.
• Keep doors and windows in good repair.
• Tighten eaves.
• Replace rotten boards.
• Cap the chimney.
• Trim overhanging trees.
• Remove bird feeders or use squirrel-proof feeders.
• Remove seasonal acorns and other tree fruit from the yard.
• Remove debris such as logs, rock walls and stones.

Rabbits
• Use taste or chemical repellents (read the label carefully).
• Place two-foot poultry fence around garden or ornamental plants.

Snakes
• Seal cracks and openings around doors, windows, foundations, water pipes and attics.
• Remove logs, woodpiles and high grass.
• Control insects and rodents.
• Always call a professional if you are unsure if a snake is dangerous.
Raccoons
• Remove easy food sources like garden produce, garbage or pet food.
• Use a metal garbage can with a latched lid.
• Use metal flashing and one-inch mesh hardware cloth to block entrances to attics, chimneys or sheds.
